First off, thanks to all that came out to see Ice House Road at Deuce's Lounge in Charlottesville last Friday night. I know some of you had trouble finding the place, and some of you were frustrated by the lack of hard booze. But I've talked to nobody that was disappointed with the music.
Jerome, the owner has a vision for Deuce's Lounge, and it doesn't involve drunken fights, inebriated loudmouths, or shootings in the parking lot, stuff that plagued Outback Lodge, the previous establishment in that building.
For a band, Jerome is exactly the kind of club owner we want to work with more often. He cares about the music, and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He's done great work in creating a very band friendly atmosphere, a great stage, lights, smooth acoustics, and freedom to play as loud as we want.
We are in talks with Jerome to play Deuce's again, probably in January, hopefully we'll see even more of you there. And next time, I guarantee he won't run out of beer cups :)
Looking for more Ice House Road before 2010 comes to an end? Well, you have two more chances. We'll be at Grand Junction Country Store in Barboursville on December 11, and The Dogwood in Palmyra for New Year's Eve.
The folks at The Dogwood are planning quite the shin-dig for New Year's Eve. A big buffet, a champagne toast at midnight, big screen TVs comfortable seats, dart boards, plenty to drink, and of course Ice House Road. Come spend the last waning hours of 2010 with us, you won't regret it.
Also, don't miss the highlight video of Bobby Sims doing what he does best, keeping bulls from stomping on cowboys at rodeos. Pretty cool vid on You Tube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f_pQpG-Ib0
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and we'll see you in December.
Love y'all,
Ice House Road
